Highgate Archway Company, £50 share, London 1810, black printing on vellum, red wax & paper seal. light nibbling at right edge but very fine.
Formed to cut a tunnel through the steep hill at Highgate, North London, which collapsed when almost complete, forming the present cutting. The company then built the bridge across which was rebuilt at the end of the century.
