Peak Forest Canal (Company of Proprietors of the…), one share, 1794, black, paper/wax seal. Discolouration from the seal at right but very fine and rare. Only 5 examples known.
A 14.8 mile narrow canal built from 1794 and opened in 1796 connecting Dukinfield, Manchester to Buxworth. Fell into disuse in the 1920’s but like many canals has been restored and reopened by enthusiasts.
