Bean motor car This company was an amlgamation of several companies by George Bean, trading at the time as A Harper & Sons & Bean. He purchased the manufacturers of the Swift and Vulcan, the Hadfield Steel Co. and the Regent Carriage Co., forming Harper Bean Ltd. in 1919. Sadly the car industry went into a decline and production ended in 1920. Saved by massive investments in 1921 production started again in 1922. With production ranging from cars, lorries and then components, eventually the company went into liquidation in 1931.
