Defiance, Defiance County, Ohio, was elevated to City status in 1881. The company owned gas works and an electric street railway which was built in 1890. In 1894 the company was reorganised as the Defiance Light & Railroad Co. and we assume the bonds became valueless. The new company in the hands of the receiver by 1899 and we understand that the tramways ceased to operate by 1908.
