USA: Emerson Motors Co. Inc., certificate for future delivery of common stock, 1917, black printing, some edge nicks, F-VF.
Formed in 1917 by collaboration of Robert C Hupp , producer of the Hupmobile, and Theodore and George Campbell, founders of the Imperial Automobile Co. New Yorker Willis George Emerson financed the project. The company aimed to compete with Ford’s latest offering the Model T, but company officials were found to be selling stock fraudulently and the business quickly went into receivership.
