U.S.A: Blodget Canal Company, one share, 1799, #269, black with diamond shaped seal. VF and a lovely early piece!!

The canal was started in 1798 along the Merrimack River joining New Hampshire with Massachusetts. It was completed in 1807 with a total of 9 locks. Samuel Blodget, lawyer and industrialist, instrumental in the renaming of the town of Derryfield to Manchester in honour of the English textile town.
