South Africa: Zaberi Diamond Syndicate Limited, one £10 share, 190[5], blue. VF and rare.
Formed in 1904 to acquire an option over a farm in the Carnarvon District of Cape Colony. The farm was promoted as very rich and the £10 shares rose to over £250. Following a shareholders meeting where some stones were declared to be crystals the shares dropped to £37 within 10 minutes! Later recovered with the promoters still insisting it was a rich strike but we find no further information.
