The Gordon Golf Club in Orton was the first course in Peterborough and the clubhouse was what is now the Gordon Arms public house. The club moved in 1912 to a new 9 hole course in Walton designed by Open Championship winner Willie Park and the Peterborough Golf Club Limited was formed.
