Millwall Iron Works Ship Building & Graving Docks Co. Ltd., £50 share, 1864, attractive black printing, large embossed seal, good very fine .
The SS Great Eastern was built at these works when they were owmed by John Scott Russell. He was bankrupted by the project and the works were sold to this company under the leadership of Charles John Mare. They built many iron clad ships for the Admiralty until the financial panic of 1866 when the company failed.
