Lockwood Union, $1 shares, 1873, signed Rev. Lewis C. Lockwood, tiny piece missing from bottom left corner, split at folds, AVF
Reverend Lockwood worked with the American Missionary Association to help freed slaves during the Civil War and was charged to organise schools in Virginia. It would appear that this company, organised in 1870, was also a school.
