Daniell & Sons’ Breweries, Ltd., Prov. cert. for “B” Debenture stock, 1896, large format, further receipts attached to lower edge, brown, fold lines, good very fine.   Brewing was started by Thomas Daniell at Spreading Oak Farm, West Bergholt, from around 1820. Joined by his sons they also ran the Castle Brewery in Colchester and the Donyland Brewery in Rowhedge. These were combined in 1877 becoming this company by 1890. Taken over by Truman, Hanbury, Buxton & Co. Ltd. in 1958.   This image is from our archive, you may receive a different serial number but the same condition.
